Account Setup in Salesforce

Introduction

PostGrid’s native Salesforce integration assists businesses in standardizing, verifying, and validating addresses by checking for corrections. The system can also itemize customer lists one by one, automate workflows or launch bulk address verification. This guide will help you walk through each step of the process.

Getting Started

To access your API key, head over to the dashboard after you have signed up and logged into our platform.

Get your PostGrid API Key

It’s easier and faster to verify addresses with PostGrid, and our API Key and base URL are the first things you need.

You can access this by navigating to the developer section of your dashboard. A new key may be created, or you can grab an existing one.

Install PostGrid Address Verification Through Salesforce Application

  • Enter the beta link into your browser.
  • Add your credentials to log in to your profile.
  • Choose from the three options>> Hit the checkbox >> Click “Install”.
  • Hit the checkbox and click on the “Continue” button to initiate installation.
  • Click on the “Done” button once the installation is complete.

Setting Up PostGrid Address Verification

  • Go to the App launcher menu on your Salesforce dashboard >> Select the “PostGrid Address Verification” application.
  • Once you are through PostGrid Address Verification>> Click tab- Configuration Page to complete the setup.
  • Click on the “Edit” button to add your API key and Base URL
  • Click the “Submit” button to finalize the setup.

You can either opt to verify multiple or single addresses as per your requirements.

Multiple Address Verification

  • Click on the “Multiple Address Verification” tab as shown below.
  • Fill in the details to initiate multiple address verification.

Single Address Verification

This process is a little different from multiple address verification, and to initiate single verification, you first need to create a button/object. Here’s how you can do that:

Enabling a Button

  • Start by clicking on the “Account” tab.
  • Go to “Setup” >> “ Open Object Manager”.

  • Choose the “Objects” as per your requirements and then “Go to the Page Layout”.

  • Select “Mobile & Lightning Action”s from the “Account Layout Section” >> click on the “Edit” button.

  • Drag and Drop the button – “PostGrid Address Validate” from the quick search section to “Salesforce Mobile & Lightning Actions”.
  • Hit “save”.
  • Refresh your dashboard to get access to the button through the same.

  • Click on “Select Field” and “Actual Address” to initiate the address verification process.

Workflow Automation in Salesforce

Create a Workflow

  • Through your Salesforce dashboard, Click on the “Setup” icon.
  • Click on the icon “Setup” to explore workflow automation.

  • Type “Flow” in the Quick Find Section on the left side of your window.

  • Click “Flows” from the Process Automation drop-down menu>>“New flow” to create a Flow.

  • Once directed to the Flow builder>> Choose the “Record Triggered Flow” (or any flow of your choice).

  • Click the “Create” button.
  • From the Configure Start pop-up window, add the “Object” of your choice.
  • Configure the trigger according to your requirements.
  • Choose entry condition requirements from the drop-down menu.

  • Select the flow as per your requirements.
  • Hit the check box>> Click on the “Done” button.
  • Click on the flow button (+) and type “Verify Address”.

  • Once directed to the pop-up window>> “Add a label”. For example, we added “To verify address” in the same and add the values accordingly.

  • To add the set input values, enable the toggle buttons on the right side of every field and add value as mentioned below:
    • City: {!$Record.City}.
    • Country: {!$Record. Country}.
    • Field Name: {!l$abel.PostGrid_AV__LabelforField}.
    • Postal Code: {!$Record.PostalCode}.
    • Recordid: {!$Record.Id}
    • State: {!$Record.State}
    • Street: {!$Record.Street}
  • Cross-check the entries and Click Done.
  • Click on Save>> Add “To verify single address” in the “Flow Label” section and hit the “Save” button.

  • Click on the “Activate” button to initiate the process.
  • Click on the “Deactivate” button to deactivate the workflow.
